Hello Everyone,

I’m a CA resident....

I graduated from UCLA as a Biochemistry major and am applying to a few DO schools this cycle. I have a 3.8 GPA and a mid 3.7 BCPM. My MCAT is a 511. Anyways, I am looking into some state schools such as Rowan, Oklahoma, MSU, UNTHSC (TX), and was wondering if people had ideas on which of these would give me the best look?

I am also doing other private DO schools, but wanted to add 1 MAYBE 2 state schools, that would take me....

Thanks!

Good for all DO schools except some of the state schools you mentioned. Rowan (allopathic and osteopathic) rarely accept OOS students. Same with MSUCOM, and even if you happened to get in there would you be willing to pay 70K for out of state tuition?

With your stats, Rowan DO, might accept you. Rowan MD (Cooper) will be a long shot as you are OOS. I'm just answering your question here, but if you want an actual school list for MD and DO, go post a proper WAMC in What Are My Chances? WAMC Medical

Great! I'll add Rowan DO to my list then 🙂. Do you know how favorable NYITCOM is to OOS applicants?

OP I think your app is competitive for MD, if your overall app is strong. Your stats are good, especially coming from a school like UCLA!
