Hey everyone, I'm applying to all the programs in Washington state (EWU, UPS, UW). I submitted my PTCAS app awhile ago and I'm just curious if their are any other students out there applying to these programs. I'm really excited and now just playing the waiting game. Let me know where everyone stands as far as your applications, admissions, denials, ect.... Thanks!! 🙂

Puget Sound is my top choice 🙂 All my apps are in for the programs I applied to. UPS won't let us know til late February.

Your stats look wonderful! 😀 Which school is your top choice?

My top choice is EWU. 🙂 But to tell you the truth, I'd be happy with any of my schools. I see you applied to Regis, a friend of mine did ED there and got in. He said he loved the campus.

Anyone else who has applied to EWU know when the interview invites will be sent out and when interviews typically occur? I've searched for info and haven't been able to find much. Thanks!

They don't do interviews anymore... Nor do they give preference to any students 😡

With that being said, do you mind if I ask what your stats look like?

Seriously, no more interviews?! Any idea why? And how did you find out? Everything I've seen seemed to indicate there would be - but I guess that info was outdated!

Well my stats -- I'm kind of an odd case. I graduated in '05 from the Air Force Academy w/ BS in Biology, my prereq GPA is a 3.4 (a little low 🙁 ). The Academy is wicked hard - so even though my post-grad work has a GPA of a 3.9, since it is my last 60 credits -- that one dropped a little. The Air Force made me a logistics officer and I did that for five years. I am now out of the Air Force and finally getting to 'do something when I grow up'. On the revised GRE I got V 160 (86%tile), Q 152 (61%tile), and A 4.5 (72%tile). I have no idea how that will stack up to the old GRE scores. I did 100 hours of shadowing split between an inpatient and outpatient facilities and think I wrote a decent personal essay and got amazing LORs (thank goodness!)

They look at last 90 quarter credits for overall GPA, so you're ok. And your GRE scores are decent ( I scored in the 40th percentile on the revised). My prereq GPA for EWU is about a 3.8 and my overall is around a 3.9. I have roughly 500 hrs of observation, which is my strong point because it's in many different settings. I'm an undergrad at EWU and attended an open house this summer, that's how I know they don't interview, along with every other school in Washington.

I don't want to discourage you but if I remember correctly the class of 2014 only one student majored in Biol, the rest kinesiology or exercise science. Either way I wish you the best of luck, once I heard that they aren't doing interviews I knew my chances were slim 🙁

Thanks for the info and good luck to you as well!! The best thing we can do now is keep our fingers crossed!

My first choice of schools is UW. I hope they let us know in January!

Anyone know if they give preference to local residents and/or applicants who are already associated with the university?

Truthfully, I think they give preference to WA stduents, but I'm not 100% sure. Also, I don't think we'll here back from UW until mid-February.

My husband is still in the AF and we are getting stationed at Fairchild AFB next year...so I just applied to EWU. eeek!

Jarrodmac10 - have you heard or do you know the timeline we are looking at for EWU?

What about UW? Do they start sending out acceptances in mid-Feb then have a waiting list until summer as well? Does anyone know if they email or send out a letter?
