Is it pretty common for students to apply to medical school one or two semesters before they finish their bach. degree ?

I am planning to take the Mcat in April and apply to my chosen schools in August. However, I still want to finish my degree no matter what, and that will be done around the end of Dec. or even longer.

I'll have the 90 hrs min. required done and the prereqs....
but I was wondering if its common for someone to apply and say something like "..and I should be done with my degree before medical classes start.."

They say you only need 90 hrs...but they "say" you only need a 3.0 gpa and 24 mcat score (approx)...but not many get in with minimums... Are credit hours viewed the same way?

Thank you,
Johnny 🙂

kinda confusing but i think i know what you are trying to say.

so it seems like you want to enter medical school right after you graduate from you undergraduate institution. the application process takes a year so if you want to go to school right after undergrad then you have to apply at the end of your junior year. the application process will take you through senior year and hopefully you will have an acceptance by May of your senior year...around the time you graduate.

then you enjoy your only summer of total freedom and then enter the realm of medicine.

oh by the way most of the time, you need to finish your degree requirements before they let you officially into med school. so obviously any acceptance you get will be conditional on the fact you complete your bachelors so dont worry. you will have your bachelors when you hopefully matriculate into med school.

i hope this answers your question.
