I am applying to pod schools and my boyfriend is applying to neuroscience grad programs this fall. He has picked out several programs around the schools I am going to apply. I think he has a list of 25 or so programs 😱!! Once I start getting acceptances I think he is going to narrow his search a bit to focus on the areas I could potentially live. If we for some chance don't live close we are going to be traveling to see each other as much as possible!

The only thing I am really concerned about that *might* be a factor is the whole timing issue. If I get an acceptance for say Scholl in November but he won't hear back from Northwestern til April we might be in a little trouble...If that were the case I would probably talk to admissions and see if they could work something out and maybe give me more time to make my decision/send the deposit. At least that's what I'm hoping! optimism...blah!

Ok so I have a girlfriend 😍 and we both want to apply to pod school here sept 2009 to go in fall 2010, we both have similar stats and everything-its just tough to think that theres a chance we wont get in at the same place.😱

so, what I am asking, is anyone else here in the same/similar sort of situation? And if so, how are you preparing for it?

Pod is not that competitive yet, so I think you both should be safe as long as you both get a 22-23 MCAT.

One of the schools would let both of you in!

Just do your best and she as well. That will take care of everything. Push each other to success. Every time you are slacking off on the MCAT, just remember what you are fighting for. Remind her as well. 🙂

I am also worrying about this. I have been with my boyfriend now for almost 2 years it's hard because I have no idea where I will get it in and I do not want to break up. I'm glad that there are other people out there in the same situation.

My fiance and I had a similar problem this past year. She was applying to clinical psychology programs and I to podiatry. In the end we both got accepted to programs in three corresponding cities so it worked out great for us. If both of you are applying to pod schools it should be much easier to get accepted into the same programs.
