😕 I just would like to hear what other people to say because I know that organic chem is one of the core classes. But, after talking to some of the people working in the admissions departments of various schools they have told me that my application may not be as competitive but that if I do really well on the chemistry section of the PCAT that may alleviate the fact that I won't be taking organic chem until spring semester.

Is there anyone who has applied to pharm school and got in without taking organic chemisty until the spring semester and won't take organic chem II until summer?😕

Well, I think you're definitely doing the right thing by talking to the schools that you are interested in. BUT, several of the schools I have looked at and/or are applying to require that all of your science pre-reqs be done by June 1 of the year you're enrolling - therefore, you would not be able to take Orgo II next summer, you'd have to have it done before then.

There are a lot of different options out there though - good luck!

i heard that some schools allow you to do that. As long as you finish the ochem before the start of pharmacy school, u should be alright, well for some schools anyways.......

My school said that it is important that they see what you make in organic chemistry, because they said that is an important course for pharmacy. However, I have heard of people getting accepted when they haven't completed organic when they applied. I guess if someone had similar stats as you, but has completed organic chemistry and did well in it, they would choose that person over someone who hasn't completed it yet? Also, my school gives you until the start of pharmacy school to finish your pre-requisites, so you can take them in the summer.
