I have been kicked out of dental school after year 2 for academics and I am looking to reapply this upcoming cycle. I will be retaking my DAT because it is very much older. What are the chances that I will get into another dental school?
Slim to none. You will be viewed as a big liability, unfortunately. What are the chances that I will get into another dental school?
These schools tend to leave their graduates $600,000+ in debt. With 2 years of debt tacked on from OP’s first dental school, the OP could very well be close to $1,000,000 in debt. This is would be insanity.I would imagine that your best chance at another dental school would be a private DS that is a little easier to get into compared to your state/ivy league ones.
what careers did they choose?I think getting into another dental school will be a long road. You will need to craft a good response as to why you were dimisssed, how you have improved and what you can bring to the table now. I would imagine that your best chance at another dental school would be a private DS that is a little easier to get into compared to your state/ivy league ones.
My two cents would be to pursue another career path that would not incur such a high debt load. I would encourage some self-reflection, focus on your strengths and explore some other industries that interest you.
**I had two friends that were dismissed from our DS for academic reasons. They found other careers and seem at peace nowadays.
another dental school?well I have found a transfer insitution that will take me on. Thanks for the advice everyone!
Are you starting from year 1? There is a miniscule to infinitesimal chance that another school will easily "transfer credits" over from another dental school. It's possible, but you have cited academic issues, so if you have extenuating circumstances, you may have a chance... but I would anticipate you would have to start back at square one. I hope it works for you, and I hope the school is not Cal Northstate.well I have found a transfer insitution that will take me on. Thanks for the advice everyone!
It is literally a for profit school. Investors are making money off your tuition.the credits do transfer over and I will be a d2. What is wrong with cal northstate?
One got into insurance and sales. The other ended up getting a masters in clinical lab science and working in a hospital system.what careers did they choose?
Congrats. Did you call each school and ask?well I have found a transfer insitution that will take me on. Thanks for the advice everyone!
Their "medical" school is on probation (the most serious decision the LCME can make short of revoking accreditation). They are the worst MD school in the country. What is wrong with cal northstate?
They also do not offer title IV federal loansTheir "medical" school is on probation (the most serious decision the LCME can make short of revoking accreditation). They are the worst MD school in the country.
They have shown themselves to be more interested in their shareholders than their students.
The BS/MD students are suing.
I could go on.
Given your situation, it's hard to argue, though.
This, even though they had the opportunity to do so since their med school opened! They also do not offer title IV federal loans
