I am currently in the process of studying Gchem in KBB and I got to thinking the other day about just saving time and doing Destroyer instead. Has anyone done this or think it's a good idea? Are the questions asked on the DAT mainly going to be calculations or will it benefit me a good deal just going ahead and reading up on it? Thanks 👍

I think KBB does a good job in the GC. Covers all topics well, I didn't use chads back then, so KBB was the next best thing.

And even after KBB, when I hit destroyer GC for first time, I couldn't even get 50% of the questions right 😱. Without KBB, I woulda been lucky to 5-15% correct. Destroyer GC is an amazing resource but you NEED GC FOUNDATION FIRST, or the explanations in the back are going to feel like a 2nd language.

Ofc, I am not suggesting that you MUST do KBB then GC destroyer, but if you are like me, where GC was studied 2 years prior to DAT, then its a good idea to have a review session (like KBB or chads) before hitting destroyer

Chad's videos!! 😀
I started off reading KBB, but if you're method of studying is LIKE ME, most of the material I read just slipped through my brain. So, I knew I had to do something else to make me learn GC. I read about Chad's videos all over this forum, and I bit the bullet and bought a month subscription for $30. BEST PURCHASE EVER. You learn the concepts and calculations from his videos. I agree with DentalWorks... you need a basic GC foundation in order to do destroyer problems. First time I looked over the questions, I did not know where to start. After watching Chad's videos, everything makes more sense. His OC is good but not as good as the GC. Good luck!

Will most definitely stay with KBB or a textbook then.

My study suggestions are posted on my blog. But I would use ACS, Dat Destroyer, and a textbook or kbb.

I like the guide, it's kind of what I planned on doing but more organized  Thanks for posting it up 👍

I have really been thinking about getting his videos. I may just have to buy them here in the next few weeks to get a quick refresher. KBB is not doing a really good job of explaining things and I have to backtrack every now and then to see how they got to where they did.

The best way to study gen chem or orgo ( in my opinion) is to do quesions from any source book, kaplan, achiever, destroyer, topscore. Whatever you had trouble with, just look up in your cheistry textbook. You basically just target the areas that you had trouble with.
Hope this will help.
