so how do you tell a school (or your interviewer) that their school is your top choice without seeming desperate? is it appropriate to tell them this if they ask you the "what should i stress about you to the committee?" question? i want to make it clear to them that if i get offered a spot, im there...

I don’t see why paying the school a compliment by telling them they are your top choice would make you seem desperate, as long as you are honest. You can use examples like: This school is my top choice because I really like… I told a school that originally they weren’t my top choice but after what I learned preparing for the interview and on the interview day they climbed to number one. I was accepted.

washu actually has a 4:1 ratio. at least it did last year when i was in the lab scraping fat.

Most random and unrelated reply?

i would say that if you are honest and enthusiastic, it's fine. you won't be sucking up, if you are genuine.

Say the school offers you the opportunity to fulfill your personal goals. If you're interested in a MPH degree, some schools like UIC, NYMC, UCSF offer both MPH and MD in 4 years. IF you're interested in research, see if the school has funding opportunity. if it does, say "xxx university not only encourages it students to conduct their own researches, it also offers funding opportunity to those who are interested in their own projects."

That guy thought he was posting in the "Student:Cadaver" ratio thread.

how many ask the student what they want mentioned about them to the committee? isn't that what the interviewer is supposed to ascertain from the interview and thus the purpose of the itnerview?

i will certainly take this into consideration! 😕 👍 haha

psycho, yea ive heard of a lot of people where the interviewer at the end of the interview asks them like a wrap up "is there anything else that i havent covered or you would like to stress to the committee...?" i guess i could also let them know if they ask me the "why xyzschool?" i just dont want them to think im saying that just so theyll let me in...because they honestly are my top choice.

I am very confused by this response. In fact, I'm downright stupified.

Nevermind. I see that this has been discussed at length.
