This is actually a serious question.... is a black suit considered acceptable for an interview? ive heard that this color is not appropriate because it's too formal, but i want to wear one cuz i look sexy in it.

look: the people on here will try to tell you that NOTHING except what they wear is acceptable. "black suits are for funerals," "tan/olive suits are too casual," blah blah blah.

just wear something tasteful that makes you feel confident. that's it.

No, I think a blue shirt would be ok too. Solid ties aren't necessary either, but just don't have a tie that's too busy and distracting.

ps If you want sexy with a black suit and can tuck in your /\'s for a bit, go with a very pale pink shirt. Extremely classy and very very good looking. If I were a chick, I'd do just about any guy in a black suit w/ that kind of shirt. I'd also be a ragging disease infest sl*t mind you.

Anything conservative - stay away from pastels and neons, and you should be fine. I'll definitely wear a blue shirt with a dark suit, and probably a Regis Philbin tie.

I disagree, pastel yellows and pinks are acceptable for formal occations with charcoal or black suits.

I personally love the black suit white shirt black neck tie men in black deal. But, alas, I think that a dark navy or dark graphite/charcoal/gray would be better than straight black for an interview.
