Does anyone know how we can increase the speed of video lectures with the Apreso system as that is what our medical school uses for the majority of their archiving. Thanks

First and foremost, the option to increase playback speed only appears when you're using IE on Windows. Other platforms/browsers don't get the option.

It also won't appear until the entire presentation is downloaded. So when it first starts playing, you should see xx% Downloaded. Once it reaches 100%, two little arrows will appear around the current playback speed (1.0x). You can then click the arrows to change playback.

I'm not aware of this option; I've viewed Apreso videos in IE, Firefox, Chrome, and Opera, all on a Windows box, and never had an option to increase playback speed. For my school, at least, streaming is the only option available.

If OP is in the same boat, there is always Myspeed, which adds a playback speed option to any Flash video. It works pretty well, although if you watch it too quickly over a slower internet connection, you'll run out the buffer and have to wait while it's refreshed. Unfortunately, it's not free - to purchase a license costs $29.99. On the other hand, if it works for you and saves you some valuable time, it may just be worth it.

Haha, oh yeah! Sorry, sometimes I don't even look at who posted, but rather what they posted. I completely missed that it was you. Sorry.

Yeah, several of the 1st-years used Myspeed, and found it helpful.

Alternately, you can always download the MP3s of the lectures and increase playback speed in Windows Media Player while following along with Powerpoints. For those instructors who like to do "Chalk Talks", however, I don't know what to tell you.

I'm not familiar with the system, but I throw it out there anyway.

Have you tried the VLC player?
