That's exactly what happened to me. I ended up not taking the test in April, but in August, so I could have the summer to prepare. Practice tests and going over the missed problems are the most important things. If you don't have time to do those things, then taking the class is pretty much worthless. (You can re-take for a nominal fee within a certain time period -- a year, I think).
I took Kaplan and the mcats last april....you need to make time to study!! I went to the library in between classes, but I didn't get through the readings until March/early april. Since I didn't keep up, class wasn't that useful. I think that's why I didn't get my 30
so please make time to do the readings and go to a kaplan center to do problems....from kaplan, i went from a diagnostic score of 15 to a 27, and i could have done better if i studied more.....good luck
I am also have a tough time juggling classes, being president of the pre-health club, and taking Kaplan. Its a tone of work so far!! But hey ya gotta find time...ya gotta find that drive that pushes you to the max so that you will study your butt off and only have to take the MCAT once. Its easier said than done..but hey put in some Rocky: Survivor-Eye of the Tiger...now that will get ya motivated!! Its the Eye of the Tiger baby...
Goodluck..I have a Genetics test..Physics test tomorrow then going to go hit some MCAT studying over the Kaplan center..not to mention its 3:45am right now..EYE OF THE TIGER..
Im sorta having the same problem. There literally isn't enough time in the day for me to get all my work done. b/w 16 hrs of classs, Princeton Review, research, etc.
I also agree. It's really weird this semester living every single day by a schedule. I even have to plan time to plan! What I originally shot for was a block of about 3 hrs. per day. But that didn't work. So right now I'm just reviewing gen. chem, so shooting for a chapter a day. I used to wake up before class to study but that also didn't work . So I'm fortunate to have a 2 hour lunch block before I work to study and get a good bit done then. But sometimes during those blocks I have to fit in at least 2 hours training time, meetings, etc. and then I have to do all my studying after 7 pm. It gets really rough with school work and training and everything. I'm just really not looking forward to the spring season when we get up at 4:30 am for training. That is really going to screw up my studying schedule.
The bulk of my studying and questions are done on weekends. That means no going out for me. It sucks, my friends think I'm no fun anymore.
I feel the same way , I have only two classes, one of them independent study, I am not working and I spend a lot of time at kaplan but still Iam so behind. I get tired so quickly. And if I take a test I do bad, then Iam done for rest of the day,I just cant study the way Iam suppose to . <img src="graemlins/pity.gif" border="0" alt="[Pity]" />
I took a lighter courseload this semester to make time for MCAT. There's a 2-hour break in between lectures 2 days per week, so I go to the library and review/do practice tests during that time. I do most of my intense reviewing on Sat and Sun mornings.
