April vs August MCAT???

What are the disadvantages to taking the mcat in april vs august? I want to take it in april but don't feel i am ready but i have always been told to apply early and if i wait to take it in august then a lot of spots will be taken. Please give me some advice.

April - Scores come back early thus you can apply early which is advantageous at both UK and UL. IF you don't score well you have a chance to retake in august and still get in without taking a year off.

August - You might be more prepared to get a good score. A slightly better score might be needed to get an interview since slots might be more limited.
