I am an Arkansas resident but have been on active duty for a few years and will be separating to go to school next year. So far I have As at ARCOM, WCUCOM, NYITCOM-AR, and still have an interview for OSU-COM strong OK ties. I have a GI bill so tuition isn't a huge concern. I also have a family coming with me.

ARCOM
Pros
Really close to home so I will have a lot of family support.
The new facilities are fantastic.
I can also do rotations close to home.

Cons
Relatively new school.
Heightened monitoring for accreditation.

NYITCOM-AR
pros
More established, at least from the main campus.
Yellow ribbon school, so I wouldn't have any tuition costs. Plus I got a scholarship so I may even get money back

Cons
Further from family support.
Lectures look like they are recorded. I'd prefer being able to interact professors face to face.

OSU-COM
Pros
Established school.
Teaching hospital.
Closer to family support.

Cons
Housing may be more difficult to find for my family.
Not really a whole lot of Cons for this one, honestly. Just still waiting to interview here in

In my opinion

OSU-COM>ARCOM>NYIT-AR

I attended ARCOM, and now in my first year of residency.

OSU-COM. Being at a state school is probably a plus when it comes to finding research opportunities. If you're able to get on the Tulsa campus, Tulsa is a great city to raise a family in. I haven't lived there since high school, but it seems like most of my friends are able to find housing pretty easily.

Source: I'm only a lowly second year at an MD school, but I interviewed at and was accepted to OSU-COM CN. The admissions people, faculty, and medical students were all awesome and seemed happy to be there. To be perfectly frank, I almost regret not going there sometimes.

In the odd event that you don't get the A at OSU-COM, I think DrStephenStrange hit it on the nose. I don't know much about the landscape there, but everything I've seen online seems to suggest that ARCOM has a better local reputation than NYIT-AR.
