Hello,

I am fortunate to have been accepted to ARCOM and LMU-DCOM (Knoxville). I am having trouble choosing where to pick and have listed out my pro/con list below. I ideally want to do a specialized residency so that is one of my top deciding factors. I would appreciate any insight, thank you!!!

ARCOM
Pros:
-new facilities
-cheaper tuition
-95% Comlex level 1 first time pass rate
-better rotation sites

Cons:
-more rural location (9 hours from home)
-unknown match list
-pre-accreditation
-mandatory attendance/dress code
-new school (may be kinks)

LMU-DCOM (Knoxville)
Pros:
-known match list with specialty matches
-good location (3 hours to home)
-no mandatory attendance/dress code

Cons:
-accreditation warning
-rotation sites are iffy?
-Knoxville is the new campus/hasn’t graduated a class
-Comlex pass rate below average

Current ARCOM student here. LMU still has an accreditation warning, plus there's been some real issues with rotations being very subpar according to students. And they've added this new branch campus without even fixing the current issues they are having. ARCOM is not perfect, but I think I'd still come here over LMU.

Would you still take it over LMU with the makinf you pay for rotation fiasco? LMU sucks but wow at least they pay for our rotations.

I can’t speak to ARCOM, but I also was accepted to LMU DCOM Knoxville and I recently toured it. The actual facility is a building and it’s pretty small in terms of what you have access to. My tour guide wasn’t associated with the medical school, just LMU in general and so I was a little frustrated. I asked about the accreditation and he said as far as he knew they’re accredited in all areas. Their law school isn’t accredited so that was a bit of a red flag to me. I felt like he didn’t know what he was talking about. As a city, Knoxville is great. It is nerve racking to imagine even a tiny chance you could go to a medical school and then them lose accreditation... I’m debating between LMU and KYCOM-pikeville for that reason

Hey I’m currently accepted to arcom for class ‘25. If you have time, what do you see as problems of ARCOM and strengths of why you chose it? Thanks!
