ARCOM vs VCOM-Louisiana

Hello!

I've been accepted to both ARCOM and VCOM-La. Which would be the better choice?

The tuition rate and distance from my family are about the same so that doesn't really impact my decision. Although, I've heard ARCOM has some troubles with remediation and board pass rates, along with mandatory attendance (?). I also read a "Name and Shame" about ARCOM on Reddit, which was somewhat concerning as well. On the flip side, I've been told their research center will be one of the biggest in the nation, and I liked the surrounding area. VCOM - La is quite new and doesn't have any board pass rates up yet, but it seems like the sister branches are all doing well so far. The location itself is kind of meh in comparison as well.

Their reseach funding/budget was $911, 512 In 2022. Not sure how they will be one of the biggest in the nation with that level of funding. Perhaps they were referring to the square footage.

Oh, possibly. So regarding these two, you would say both are around the same in terms of quality?

VCOM-LA if you're willing to be a pioneer. But be used to the fact that the administration won't know what it's doing. And the success of other VCOM campuses has nothing to do with the LA school.

36 million dollar gift from an anonymous donor to build out research in a 300,000+ square foot building they bought and are renovating. They discussed this with applicants during their interviews this past year. It also includes community health and wellness services among other things being placed in the building.

Ask how much NIH/NSF/AHA funding they have, whether technicians, postdocs, graduate students, etc. are commonplace, how many publications (not abstracts or posters) faculty and students publish each year, what their IDC recovery rates are, or whether an animal facility or patient sample biobank exists, and you'll find out very quickly that they, like many osteopathic medical schools have no idea what infrastructure is required to run a substantial research enterprise.

Sorry to bother you again. I got an offer from ATSU SOMA @ Arizona. Can you please let me know your thoughts on it when compared to VCOM Louisiana. Appreciate an early response as I have to make a choice quickly. I heard they had a curriculum change recently at ATSU SOMA.
