Hey everyone,
So I did some research based on the ADEA book and the forums, and I came up with a list of schools I think i want to apply to. I'm not sure if I'm just wasting my money with some of them.

I'm a NYS resident.
I'm doing a dual degree in Psychology and Biomedical Sciences with a minor in Pharmacology and Toxicology
Overall GPA- 3.78

Biology- 17
Gen Chem- 18
Organic- 20
Total Science- 18
PAT- 21
AA-19

I've done hundreds of hours of clinical experience with different dentists and also do research at UB Dental. I know my DAT science scores are kind of low 😕

I would drop at least Nova and Uconn for the 17 you got in Bio. Would drop USC because of cost.

columbia i understand bc my DAT scores not being up to par with their average

howard and meharry.. is it because of the fact they both take like 99% Hispanics/Black Americans?

Yes, take those schools out because of that. I would also add USN to the list. It would be a great fall back school..

1. If you're NOT URM, I suggest you remove Howard and Meharry from your list.
2. I'm not sure if your DAT is competitive for Columbia (Avg 22 AA) and UoP (Avg 21 AA).

Is Pakistani American considered URM?

I would eliminate the bolded schools because either their average stats are higher than yours, or you are not a URM.

U of Mich's averages are pretty... average

3.4 GPA and like 19-20 DAT

Both are above his average stats. Plus, here is a quote right off of UM's admissions page:

To be considered competitive, an applicant should have scores at or above 19 in all areas of the test. (http://www.dent.umich.edu/admissions/home/dds/admissionsprocess).

If you want to give it a shot, go for it. I would say that you should save your money for applying to a different school.

thanks alot for that info! I'm gonna check the rest of the bolded schools to see if they have anything on their own websites about what they consider as competitive.

I read that they only take people from the southwest?

true... but those average stats are pretty common with most schools on his list anyways.

I don't think so. They interviewed people from everywhere. Maybe mostly people from the southwest are attending, but just because you are from another part of the country would not hinder your chances at all.
