I was a second author for an SFN poster, and while I did a lot of work I wasn’t able to attend the conference in person. Is this authorship still meaningful in the eyes of adcoms?
I have presented a few other posters in person but just not this one.
Thanks!

I think the answer is yes, the meaningful aspect of a poster is the work that went into getting that far. Physically presenting he poster, in my experience, is trivial but exciting if you haven’t done it before. It’s basically can you have a 5 minute conversation with someone about what you did as they move to the next poster

Yes, it's still meaningful. You did the work, you get the cred, regardless of who presented. Of course, you should give credit to the presenter in your comments, like "Presented by first author." Research is a team sport; you aren't expected to do all the work yourself.

Yes. It's a sign of productivity.

Thank you all for the responses!

Yes it really is a team sport and I am very glad I was able to make some meaningful contributions as a young undergrad.
I could have gone to the conference had it not been halfway across the country, in the middle of the school year, and cost a few grands for me to be there.
