are there mistakes in msar?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
There are mistakes. I've noticed some schools are listed as requiring biochemistry when they don't actually require it. As far as I know, there is no errata. It's best to double check the really important stuff with the school's website or with their admissions counselor.

as for biochem, is it ok as long as we take it before we graduate. I am a rising senior and i am taking it this fall. For my amcas, i listed it is as a future class.

Thanks

is it possible that there are mistakes in msar book? also is there a correction page or anything like that? thanks

MSAR is a great resource for you to search through schools and use some basic filters to identify medical schools that require community service or a thesis. Other than that, you need to review a school's website, or better yet follow up with administrators to confirm class requirements like biochemistry or anatomy. I found the GPA and MCAT ranges and admission stats incredibly useful before and during the application cycle. Other than that be sure to look elsewhere for more important information.

As long as it is on your future classes it should be fine. It may be even listed on your official school transcript (if you are taking it in the fall) and your school does it that way. You may also be able to address the fact that you plan to take biochem elsewhere on the school's secondary. For whatever reason you are unable to take biochem your senior year, you should even be able to take it in the summer before M1 either online or through your school. But I wouldn't recommend it--better to enjoy your summer and not deal with the stress of having to fulfill such requirements so late in the cycle.
