Hey everyone. Quick question. Is it worth applying to Arizona if all I have is community service experience? I don't have dental experience that was paid or volunteer. I did a summer program at UMDNJ and shadowed a dentist but that's all related to dentistry. Should I even apply? Because this supplementary is starting to look empty :/

If you're interested in the school then definitely apply. Your experience with dentistry sounds fine to me, assuming you shadowed (or are continuing to shadow) for a decent amount of time (50+ hours).

Why are you focused on dental experience in the form of volunteering/paid? Does the supplemental focus on that? I only wonder because from their admissions pages they seem to not focus on that, but rather on volunteering service in general, especially if it's outside dentistry, quoting:

Demonstrated community service through volunteerism or service-oriented employment is preferred. Categories of community service go beyond the profession of dentistry and healthcare.

It's okay not to have EVERYTHING, as is applying to a school with some uncertainty, sometimes you have to just take a chance doubts be damned, for all you know, Arizona might be the only school to accept you this cycle.
