I wish you the best of luck. That's a lot of observation hours!

Are you applying for Army or Navy?

Hey guys!

Just submitted last night (12 September 2025).

I wish anyone else applying this application cycle gets an interview email in October!

Are you applying for Army or Navy?
Yes! During covid I took a semester remote so I was able to work as a physical therapy aide. And I applied for both however, I heard most of the navy spots are given to those already in the navy.

That's awesome that you got to work as a PT aide. What specialty environment were you working in?

Also, I'm applying for one of the few US Air Force spots.

Hey everyone,

Appreciate you starting this thread. I’ve been following past cycles and am glad to finally join the conversation.

About me:
First time applicant (application verified 22 August)
12-year SFC Army medic with years of clinical and leadership experience
120 observation hours split between H2F and a military clinic
GRE: 151 Verbal, 154 Quant, 4.0 AWA
GPA: 3.93 undergrad, 3.94 pre-req
LORs from Army Baylor alum, Army physician, O6 commander, and A&P professor

I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little anxious waiting for an interview email, especially knowing how selective the process can be. Wishing everyone here the best as we move through the cycle!

Hey Cal, welcome to the thread!

I'm in the same boat as you when it comes to nerves. On the APTA program description, the program mentioned that they plan on finishing all interviews by 15 November 2025. That gives us at least a decent heads up!

You have a lot of great experience. What made you want to switch over the PT specialty?

Hey Peyton,

Yes, and I’m pretty sure they do rolling interviews (in the order they’re received). The main reason I want to switch to PT is that I have seen so many patients as a medic in an acute primary care setting so I knew I didn’t want to be a PA. With PT I can still have a big impact on a patients health and wellness in a fun setting like H2F.

Hello all! My name is Sofia 🙂

Thank you so much to Peyton for starting this thread. I was so happy to see it after reading through previous years. I appreciate all of the support and positivity thus far.

My stats:
- application verified 9 SEPT; received by school 10 SEPT
- first time civilian applicant; applied to Army and Navy
- Observation hours: 400+ outpatient (worked as aide), 55 neuro clinic, 55 inpatient
- GRE: 160 V, 152 Q, 5.0 AW
- GPA: cumulative is 3.95; pre-req is 3.85
- Housing and Residence Life leadership experience (1.5 years) as well as an editor of school magazine, writing tutor, and TA (1 year for each)
- Currently working as a rehab tech at an outpatient pelvic health and ortho clinic

I am feeling quite nervous as I know it is very competitive out there. Wishing everyone the best. No matter what happens we all put our best efforts forward. If and when I hear about an interview, I will let you all know 🙂

Hi Sofia! Welcome to the thread. You have some awesome experiences and some excellent GRE scores/GPA!!

Wishing you the best! I submitted a few days before the deadline, so I'm likely last in line to be reviewed on the U.S. Air Force side of the house. If I have the opportunity to interview, I will let you all know as well!

Hey everyone! My name's Cait.

Some really impressive stats in this thread! Feeling pretty nervous while awaiting an interview date, so I'd love to connect with everyone 🙂

About me:
- First time applicant
- USAF Staff Sergeant (7 years), last 3 were in the Reserves
- CGPA: 3.85; Pre-req GPA: 3.88, BS in Exercise Physiology
- GRE: 153 V, 148 Q, 4.5 AW
- Observation Hours: ~1,300 inpatient, 300 outpatient
- Relevant work experience: rehab tech, personal trainer, emergency room
- LORs from Army Baylor alum (PT), former Army special forces Strength & Conditioning coach (professional), professor, O-5 Deputy Commander (professional)

A bit of a weird situation for me, I'm applying for Army/Navy seats since I'll separate from the Air Force before the program start date. AF only accepts applicants who are currently in the AF and are from the Academy, ROTC, or currently active duty, meaning AF Reservists cannot apply for any seat. I was advised to apply as a regular veteran; hoping for the best and willing to answer any questions! Best of luck to everyone.

Hi Cait! Welcome to the thread! We definitely have some high performers in this thread.

I don't think I've seen that many inpatient hours before. That's impressive! You're situation is pretty unique and I wish you the best in pursuing an Army/Navy spot.

Hey everyone, I'm Eric.

Nervous and excited now that applications are finally done. Now we just wait!

About me:
- First time applicant
- Active Army CPT, Armor branch (6 yrs)
- CGPA: 3.78. Dual Major BA in psychology and sociology
- GRE: 160 V, 155 Q, 5.5 AW
- Observation Hours: just over 100, all in a military outpatient clinic / hospital
- LORs from 2x Army Baylor alum (PT), Anatomy professor, O-6 BDE CDR

I'm definitely nervous. Seeing how competitive everyones stats are is insane. Especially observation hours. It was a struggle to get 100 over the last year for me (EUCOM deployment, train up for NTC, and attending NTC). So it's been busy.

I also submitted my application on the final day, so I won't be getting an interview for a while. I probably reread my application and the essays a hundred times.

Goodluck to everyone.

Hey Eric. Welcome!

I'm in the same boat as you regarding application submission. I submitted on 12 Sep, had my application verified on 17 Sep, and received a notification that the Army-Baylor program received and are reviewing my package on 21 Sep.

I have also read over my essays a hundred times, lol!

Wish you the best, you have some awesome stats.

That's interesting. You submitted earlier than I did, but you were verified after I was.

I submitted mid-day on 14SEP, verified 15SEP and notified that Army Baylor had it on 16SEP. I guess the system works in strange ways.

It is interesting. If I had to guess, the program likely prioritizes handling Army/Navy applications first since they make up the preponderance of the application pool. As you said though, the system may work in strange ways.

@Everyone in the Thread

To share the opportunity, the Army-Baylor Program will have a Interactive Engagement Experience tomorrow (24 September 2025) at 1200 CST. I think there is still time to get registered at the following link:

Could be an opportunity to hear how the application boarding process is going and ask questions about the program itself!

Thanks for posting this! I went to a briefing about a year ago but I think it will be good to sit in on another one since we’re currently in the application window!
