ARMY DASP Bonus????

over here on the Navy side of things, we are finally in the last stages of paperwork before the ASP amount goes to $10K. apparently, the message took so long to be published that the original funding had been allocated elsewhere. now that the budget office has cleared that mess up, we are fixin' to get paid.
for me, i have to submit a renegotiation contract while simultaneously back-dating the new contract to the one i signed back in June. basically, i got paid in June at the old rate of $4K (less taxes of course) and now i will get the additional $6K while keeping my ASP date as it originally was negotiated.

there was an e-mail we got about three weeks ago....gave a bunch of excuses.....said something about everyone getting their old amounts and that dfas is aware of it. the additional amounts are all being hand-entered into the pay system and we should expect it to up to another 60 days after the first (incorrect) payment is made (which took a month of waiting to get).
army finance is the biggest monkey fruck on this planet. if you owe the army money, they want it tomorrow, or they garnish your wages and they take interest.
if the army owes you money.....don't hold your breath, because it will get frucked up somehow and they will tell you to wait 60 days. then when you start calling people to get it fixed, the paperwork takes another 60 days to go through.....and you still don't get interest.
i've learned this well through ten years in the army. but you probably know this by now too.

Army has begun to get the new amount. I recieved my full $12,000 within the last 2 weeks. The process is in 2 stages: 1) AMEDD Special pays has to process the accounts and shoots the results to DFAS. They have processed 2 batches one on 9 June and the other 11 July (I think). 2) DFAS then can take 30-60 working days to process their stuff. Once it is done it will be automatic from that point on. Your Multi-year bonus will follow the same process the first time. I submitted my application 1 May and recieved pay 2nd week in July.
i submitted my dasp contract on 29May. i got the the first $4000 about two weeks later. i still haven't received the rest of the dasp.

That happened to another friend of mine up here. I would hope those would be all worked out during August. The good news is that once it is in the system it will be automatic each year after that.
I just got my other 6K. I figured it would take months to fix, not weeks.
Anyone else still having problems with this? I got my first payment May 22nd...still waiting on the 2nd...

The delay has something to do with DFAS being in charge of 1 payment, and OTSG the other. The OTSG one is quick, the DFAS a little slower. My payments were split by a few weeks this year. Some of the guys here are still waiting for their 2nd installment and it's been close to a month. Hopefully the new consolidation takes care of these things.
still waiting on my 2nd payment also. last year it was about 3 months before the 2nd came through.

Found out more today on the DASP delay. On May 1 the office within DFAS that normally processed our payments changed to a different office within DFAS. This has led to a backlog and thus the delay. I haven't heard anything on when they will work through the backlog. I can tell you the Dental Corps leadership has been trying to remedy the situation.
Yep...still waiting on my second payment...almost 2 months now..
I know some of the leadership was not even aware of it...since most of theirs is not split...the only people that receive a split dasp are those of us that received the increase a few years back...those with the highest tier were unaffected...and have been getting it lump sum the entire time.

You're right, when I spoke to them they said the guys in the 15k range were unaffected. Mine went in on 28 April, so my split was the normal couple of weeks range. Sorry you got caught up in the split. I know that COL Hamilton and OTSG were on the issue.
