Hi, I was wondering if anyone could tell me how much the monthly stipend is for the HPSP student. I read it was over $2000.00, but was wondering the exact number so I can account for taxes and other deductions from the stipend. Thank you for your help.

I'm in the Navy, but I think the stipend is the same for all branches. I get $929.71 every 2 weeks after taxes. I think before taxes its $2157.30 for the whole month.

any idea what happens to your contract with the reserves after you get accepted into HPSP?

I was recently contacted by a recruiter. At the moment, it is 2178 USD for 10.5 months before taxes are applied.

On 1 July it goes up to $2200.73 before taxes

any idea what happens to your contract with the reserves after you get accepted into HPSP?

You cannot be in the active Reserves or NG and in HPSP. In most cases, you are discharged from the Reserves or Gaurd, and then are appointed into the Idividual Ready Reserve.
