does anyone know what the match process is for army urology? do they participate in the early civilian match with their options limited to the military training programs? Or do they match at the same time as the other hpsp students?

I'm almost positive it's the same as all other Army specialties. You'll still want to at least go through the motions of applying to and interviewing at some civilian programs since there is a very slight chance that you'll get a deferment. The money you spend to interview goes down the crapper, and there's not much you can do about it. Welcome to the Army.

yup, same match. its small (7 slots). specialty advisor told us this year to only interview at your home institution or local safeties, as if you are competitive enough for the top programs, you'll be doing a military residency. deferments are only if they think you are competitive but are not in their top 7.

Can anyone provide feedback on the BAMC Urology residency in San Antonio? I know that they are going through some big changes there and that they are having some trouble with their numbers. Can anyone elaborate on this? I'm trying to figure out where I should rank it because I'm having some doubts about the program.
