Aromatic rings

So I know that to be aromatic, the ring must have 4n + 2 electrons (2,6,10 etc..) but say a ring has two pi bonds, and a compound that has two electron pairs, is this considered aromatic? I'm talking about the thiazole ring in vitamin B

yes, the thiazole ring is aromatic. one of the electron pairs is part of the pi system while the other resides in an sp2 orbital. because the sulfur atom has one of its electrons pairs donated into the ring it is sp2 hybridized.
