Officially 2 weeks after ERAS submission opened, and interview offers have started trickling in from a few programs. Just wondering- as of this Friday 9/29 midnight, what percentage of the psychiatry programs you applied to to date have offered you an interview?

Important date coming up next is the Dean's letter (MSPE), which is being released 10/1/12. Hopefully more offers will start coming in after that now that the application can be complete!

I've been very fortunate to get 9 out of 20 interview offers so far (45%). I'm grateful!

For those of you with multiple offers, have you already started scheduling interviews? Are you taking off a large block of vacation time (say all of November) or are you scheduling interviews during lenient rotations?

4/10, but I added some more a few days ago that I haven't heard from.

0/99, learning the harsh reality of being a Caribbean grad even from a well established one that has full 50 state licensure.

I'm not sure if the other 49 states care so much about what California thinks about a particular school. I may be wrong, but I think most PDs tend to lump most of the Caribbean schools together.

Yeah I think the only time where a certain Caribbean school is viewed differently is if the program has accepted people in the past from that particular school and if they have performed well. Then, at least from my experience, they tend to be more open to people from that program. Of course, it could certainly backfire as well lol. But definitely apply to programs that have accepted carib grads (particularly from your school) in the past.

Yea I applied to the IMG friendly programs and places that I knew grads from my school got into. I graduate in a few weeks, so maybe clearing Step 3 soon should help also. When I first decided to go to a carib school right after undergrad, I had known over a dozen practicing docs who got what they had wanted without issues so I never thought I would be any different. But over the past years it seems more osteopath schools have been opening up + increased number of seats yearly at US schools have been squeezing out the spots for IMG spots.

On a side note, finally got some good news this morning with my first IV invite from a program I thought would be a for sure reject.
