The EtherBunny seems to be a pain person, or going into pain. Maybe it will be a godsend to him as well, as his complex patients will be managed by us.
I hope that's not the ASA plan. It's nuts. I work at a major academic center and we couldn't make it work here. We have preassignments for the more complex cases as well as teams for complex surgeries. That's all one can hope for with over 100 procedures a day scheduled in multiple locations around the hospital, medical center and suburbs.
This will also be a non starter for all the small groups that cover multiple hospitals, ASCs, clinics, etc.
I really hope this was his interpretation and not what the ASA is cooking up. It won't work in the sticks or the ivory tower.
