Did anyone here get into ASDOH last year off the waitlist? Does anyone know how many people were on it???

Thanks for any info

Do they still tell you what number on the waitlist you are?

The first year I applied, I started off at 15 on the list and honestly expected to get in...needless to say, I ended up #12 in July. Unfortunately for anyone on the waitlist, most of the poeple who accept initially at ASDOH end up here. I don't think anyone higher than #5 on the waitlist has ever been offered a position. Good luck! and I hope to see you here in July.

I don't have any stats, but I agree that the waitlist seems to only wait, and wait, and wait.

That seems to be the answer for the whole process! Torture. Ah well, I was guessing that the top 5 had some chance and none beyond that. Thanks for the input. Apparently they do still rank the list; I'm supposed to know tomorrow what that fateful number will be!

Thanks again you guys...

I was lucky enough to get off the waitlist this year (that I didn't even know I was on). Apparently the waitlist was finalized Thursday the 6th, but I didn't know I was on it since I had pretty given up hope and resigned myself to attending UNLV. I recieved a call on that Friday from Dr. Polk telling me I had been accepted, then on Tuesday of the following week I recieved my waitlist letter. So anyway, the waitlist has moved at least one spot, so there still may be hope for those of you still waiting to hear. For others, theres a spot at UNLV and Creighton which is now open. Good Luck 🙂

What made you choose ASDOH over UNLV and Creighton? Just curious.

ASDOH was my top choice from the beginning because I wanted to stay relatively close to my family (who is in CA), I love the curriculum and taking the boards after the first year, everything is brand new, and I felt like the students were truly happy to be there. I was hesitant about moving my kids to Vegas, and Creighton was really far from my family (and its too cold for a native Californian). I had really given up hope on getting into ASDOH, but when I got the call I jumped on it because I think me and my family will be happy and comfortable there for the next four years.

Well congratulations, and I guess we'll be classmates!

Does anyone know when we'll get our electronic award letter? I heard that we will get our loan $$ the week of school, does anyone know anything different?

Typically students receive the excess funds one full week after the loans are made available to the school (or one week from the date that tuition and fees are first due). Example: school starts July xx, and you would receive the excess money in your account exactly one week after xx.

Award letters should be coming. They're easy to fill out (literally takes 10 minutes or so), so don't worry too much.

Thanks Gavin for the heads up on the loan money! I was starting to wonder myself.

Joyce said they haven't ranked them yet (that was 4/21) and they might not rank them at all this year. 😱 She would let me know if they did... That could mean indefinite waiting! How much waiting can one person take? I applied last June 1! Had I known then what I wouldn't know now, I really would've freaked out!
