Hospital leadership never wanted to pay pharmacists well. In addition, it is highly influenced by nursing. Retail pharmacy is the reason hospital pharmacists make good money. Most nurses don't care how long you went to school; they just want you to provide a secretarial service for MAR's and get the meds out faster. They see what you do and have a hard time believing you make more than them.
Many pharmacists have forgotten how hard nursing worked to prevent the growth of pharmacy. However, I have got to hand it to them for their NP achievement!
