ASHP's Residency Application guide

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Created by professors at my school. Just an FYI, no bragging 🙂

what's the point of this book?

people need an actual book to apply to reidency?

sad...except for the people writing the book, must be raking in the $$$

Its based on a class they teach that supposedly raises matching rates from 60 something to 80 something %. I figured it couldn't hurt to make sure I have all my bases covered. I've spent $20 on more ridiculous things before...

Fess up whoever it is!!! :meanie:

I am guessing Doctor M, I don't know any other well respected posters in Florida. Well I can think of a few, but all from UF.

I won't hold it against him, no one is perfect. :meanie:

idk the return policy oh ASHP... I bought and read tons of personal finance/investment books through Amazon. Recently, I bought 3 books; read all in less than 3 weeks, and return them after I made notes rigorously. Got charged $3 as a return fee. I can't remember reading a book twice after I made notes so I see no reason holding books I have read to collect dust...

Not the cheapest way but I could have just gone to the library most of the time. I am too lazy to do that -.-;

I said this because the school was on probation from ACPE in 2008...

We all know there are good and bad students at every school of pharmacy.

I agree with this. I have personally precepted students from the Top 10 school down the road who had trouble tying their own shoelaces. It's more about the individual's talent, drive and work ethic.

lulz I googled Pharmacy and nsu and got Norfolk state university pharmacy technician training 😛

Norfolk State was actually the first school that came to mind for me. Didn't realize there wasn't a pharmacy school there. 😳

So you mean you're part of the reason they charge so much? :meanie:

Wth, that's so cheap!

Book came in today. Finished the first chapter and no great revelations yet. The book did have contributing authors outside of just nova. Should have it read by the weekend and post up a full review.

And a pdf, if it's any good. :meanie:

Pretty solid read. I knew a lot of the information, but it was nice how the book had it laid out and organized. Some filler and some cheesiness aside, I'd highly recommend this book to someone who was a P1 or P2 to get started early with planning and knowing the process better. 👍

Does it discuss non-traditional residencies?
