If your professor is anything like my professors they will make you earn that B-, meaning not bump up your grade no matter how much you ask. Maybe my undergrad didn't grade inflate, but I had an 89.97% and received a B+

nothing... I had a 79.5% on ochem and I got a C+, just learn from it. If admissions asks about it, tell them how it helped you grow. I've maintained a 3.9+ ever since! You can do it.

i almost chose the wrong answer in one of midterm. I choose C instead of A. which will affect my GPA, Dental school application, Scholarship, it might be a red flag when the admission review my application i got a C in General Gem I and C+ in general chem II.

Just go up to them and beg them. Just don't take no for an answer. Tell them that you need the grade to get into dental school to support your single mom on welfare, and 6 siblings.
If it comes down to it, tell them you'll kill yourself if they don't change the grade. You're the last hope in the family and if you don't succeed, then you're just a burden to them.

I've used this method a couple of times, and it has been proven to work every time. And my parents are middle classed, living together, and I only have 1 sibling.

If you're not cheating, you're not trying. It's all about who WINS in life. The Patriots cheated, and they're champions.

it's kinda pathetic to lie and cheat on a professor to curve my grade only 1.2 percent and on the other hand if i din't it will affect me so much!!
And in the other hand, most of the people cheat to get what they want

Don't worry, AlbinoPolarBear is kidding.

C+ and B- looks almost the same. Probably won't affect you that much if you're already in that range. Relax and work on boosting your GPA next semester.

But... AADSAS GPA doesn't do +/-. Mine went down a little bit.

every time I saw a student beg for a grade to be changed the professors very bluntly say I don't care what your reasons are, you get the grade you earn. Having a teacher change a student's grade is unethical and unfair to the other students.

OP: Are you even talking about final grades? How can they be out in march on a semester system?

If you're just talking about just one test grade, you need to stop crying, get off sdn, start studying and aim to do well on the final to raise your overall grade.

Dude.... It's only a matter of a 2.3333 vs. a 2.66667 that is not going to make that big of a difference for your GPA when it comes down to applying. However, you need to do better on O-Chem because if you continue to get C's in your science classes then you will tank your sGPA and bcpGPA and that's a much bigger deal then a C+ vs. a B-

I had a 92.8% in biochem and got an A-, I got an 89.8% in biopsych and got a B+, and I got an 89.6% in physio and got a B+.... I hated it but it happens and life goes on

Depends on the professor. I had one professor give me a friend of mine's extra credit in a class once and it bumped me from a B+ to an A. I was close with the professor though and had high A's on all tests except for the first one.

If you are always in class and attend discussions and make comments in class then you have a shot at getting it bumped. If you've done all this then your professor can see that you've tried hard and you can send him/her a nice email explaining your predicament and asking nicely for a bump and finishing it with "I respect whatever decision you make" this may not work for a 1.2% bump cause that's pretty steep but it has worked a couple times for me to get a 0.1% or 0.2% bump. Good luck!

I think B- and C+ are almost same, so just forget it and prepare yourself for the next semester.

Be really charismatic and start off by having a conversation. Then, tell him your %, a reason behind your low grade, and how much that bump would help your future and chances when applying to the dental school. Good luck.

You can ask. Some professors are more receptive to begging and pleading than others. You're in pretty solid C+ territory though- asking for a more than a few fractions of a percent is a lot, and wouldn't be fair to the other students that were in similar situations (which is probably a lot of people). How many other students would benefit from that 1.2% boost? Probably a lot of them.

AADSAS GPA doesn't do +/-. In other word, having a B- or B or B+ mean a B
C- or C or even C+ means a C. But it will make a huge impact on your GPA when AADSAS calculate it!!

AADSAS will report two sets of GPAs to your schools. A GPA with +/- and a GPA without +/-.
Depending on how many pluses and minuses grades you have, you may or may not have two very different GPA sets.

AADSAS most definitely does calculate +/- and w/0 +/- GPA and it is up to the school to determine which one they choose to look at.

Feel so bad for you...
yea biochem and physio were 4 credits, biopsych was 3... my GPAs would have been a little higher but i still got in so it really doesn't matter anymore lol

Lack of rounding can be a real b**** sometimes. I had to remediate a class in D1 over 0.3 of a percent. Passing is a 70, my average was a 69.7. Literally ONE exam question had me in remediation.

But that's what happens in the real world. So if a professor couldn't round me up and pass me over something that miniscule and had me spend a month repeating the course, why should an undergrad professor bump you up by 1.2% to a B- that you don't deserve?

What do you mean I thought they had A- and B+. I thought only Texas schools did not use +/-

Correct. However for AADSAS, they will report both and it is up to the school if they choose to look at +/- or without.

Oh ok how do you know what schools do it?Or do most schools just use both
