I have shadowed a doctor at his private clinic for a couple of summers. I am planning to apply to medical programs this upcoming application cycle and asked him to write a letter of recommendation for me. He told me that he would be happy to, but asked if I could write a draft LOR that he could edit. What should I do? Is it unethical for me to write my own LOR even though it should/will be edited by my recommender?

What I did was read through various available templates and assembled a basic outline from those, then filled in specifics. I sent her the draft to edit. In your case absolutely attach a resume or CV and make sure to be clear about what traits and experiences you’d like to highlight.
