Hello!!! I received an interview invitation from Touro University Nevada but since it would be in 2 weeks, I'm unable to request the day off from work 🙁

Do you think it would be effect my chances of getting in if I ask them to reschedule? They operate on a rolling basis and the next availability would be in January.

I am facing this same decision with Rush! I have a test the same day since the interview is on a Friday. I was going to ask if I could do a later date but am scared if this hinders me at all

I don’t think there’s harm in asking if it’s possible to reschedule or do an interview via Skype- saying you aren’t able to get off of work or reschedule taking an important exam shows you care about the opportunity AND are a person who honors prior commitments. There’s a number of people in my program who had to do their interviews last year via Skype for one good reason or another, and clearly they still got in! (And deserve to be here!) Schools understand that people have lives. Just make sure you express appreciation for the opportunity and for their time and make clear that your education is a priority. I know the whole application process can make you feel like a replaceable name on a list, but if they invited you to interview in the first place they’ve already put the time in to review your application and decided they want to talk to YOU. Don’t forget that you’re a unique person who will contribute to their program by being in it - grad school is not a one way relationship where they give and you receive!
Good luck!
