Hi guys..

As I'm an international student(predental), I have few questions about honors program

Actually I've got a mail about asking me to apply for
'Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges." from my
department.

I wonder if I should apply for this one or not... I mean if this will help a little bit for me to get into dental school?

Because I just registered for the Golden Key ( I don't know if u guyz have heard about this -_-) couple weeks ago....

I hope somebody could give me an advice for this...
Thx and hope u guys do well on this semester..

It MIGHT help.... something you could add to your name.... but, dont think of it as something incredible and that will get in... its just a POTENTIAL perk.

It's a scam and will not help your application. You will register and they will print your name and stuff in a book and then they will ask you to buy the book. They make money off of book sales. They do the same thing to high school students. However, Golden Key will looked great on your app.

No, it's not that hard to get into here in the states. I think their cut off is the top 10 or 15% of the class here as well. There are other honor societies that are much more selective. In my opinion, joining these organizations can be of benefit as they often organize outreach opportunities and afford opportunities to become involved with your student community. In my opinion, being apart of such clubs communicates to adcoms that you are the type of individual that is willing to contribute to professional affiliations and be an active member of your community. And of course, at the lowest level of benefit honor societies can fill one more line on your C.V. or that little box on many secondaries labled "honors, organizations etc."
