I know generally asking for a LOR is always ideal in person. However, certain circumstances can prevent this sometimes. I just completed a summer internship in a neuroimaging lab. I think the prof I worked for liked me and I she said multiple times how I was a positive contribution in the lab. My last week, when I was going to ask her for a LOR, she had to leave campus urgently for personal reasons so I didn't get to. I left the campus and I'm 600 miles away now. Would a professional email asking for a LOR be okay in this situation?
Thank you
