asking schools about a weak app

You're right, it comes off as incredibly whiny and ungrateful. Your unhealthy preoccupation with prestige belies a profoundly narcissistic lack of self-worth. Get a grip, grow up, and go become a doctor (preferably in that order). (Also, use your shift keys. You're not E. E. Cummings.)

What schools did you apply to and where did you receive acceptances from? Many state medical schools are much more competitive and higher ranked than you give them credit for, almost uniformly more so than their state undergrad schools which may only be so-so

You can call and ask, but what would this do for you? You’de going to be a doctor and there isn’t anything you can do to change your application/cycle.

Disappointment is understandable, but get how competitive this is and everyone gets knocked down to earth, eventually. Most of applicants were tops in their undergrad class. You just got a reality check a bit earlier that there will always be someone out there better than you. It was a really hard thing to swallow for me at first, but guess what? I will still be a doctor. Do well at your school and destroy step 1.
