i'd think it's a big No-No, but i figured i'd ask, as i am very very impatient...

how out of the question would it be to call a school post-interview and ask about your status? NOT a school that said "wait til the 15th" but a school that said they'd let you know in 3-4 weeks (which would be about now).

i can wait, but i don't wanna 🙂

i take the lack of response as a resounding "NO!"

i'd love to do it, but i don't have the balls.

I thought schools couldn't tell you until 15th (legally) if you weren't EDP for rolling admissions. That's like asking a non-rolling school to tell you your status before their official march 15th (or whatever) date.

THere are no LAWS silly.

I would only do it if you know they would have made a decision by now. I know UF has decided for me, so i called and asked some related question like, how many people in my group were admitted. But no direct. I was told 4 of 10 and no other info was volunteered. Tulane was a different story but Tulane was to mail out decisions today so telling me over the phone, isnt a strech. You just have to get a sec or dean in a good mood. But I wouldnt worry to much about pissing people off if you have a decent question to ask them and not simply "will you break you policies for me?".

so the answer is...yes, it's ok? as long as you're tactful?

i mean, is there a chance it will hurt your standing?
