So I am still choosing between my two top schools... and am at a complete loss. My major concern is finances. I've been consider asking these schools if they have any scholarships available, and outlining my financial situation. Has anyone else done this? What is the most tactful and respectful way to approach such a situation? I know for law schools it is common practice to offer scholarships, but do dental schools even do this? I know of very few dental school scholarships. Thanks for your input!

I don't know how appropriate it is to ask as --if its meant to be a form of bribery.
I know some schools have scholarships available AFTER your first year--based on your academic achievements as a D-1. This sounds nice to have as an option in the event that you beast first year.
It really seems like not much FREE financial help is offered---mostly seems to come in hte form of student loans.
Maybe try finding outside sources to apply to for scholarships/grants?
Some offer it to first year, I'm not sure if they would have told you by now though?

I think its ok to call the school and ask if they have merit/need based scholarships available and if there is a separate application process, you could even ask when they are awarded. That's probably as much as they'll be able to tell you over the phone. Good luck!
