The standard regimen seems to be the Decks, Mosby's review (best), and the released questions on the NDBE website. Good luck.

Try e-bay or alternatively, there's a guy named Naresh in Toronto who would be able to help you out. PM me for details if you're located in TO.

Hi everyone! I'm from Quebec.
I have a ? Dentists with degrees from non-accredited programs , how lives in Ca :
1. Can do the equivalence process
Or
2. Study in the University.
So, we need to pass assessment of fund. Knowledge for the equivalence process and also it is the exam that all Ca Universities requires . BUT we can pass it just 2 times in our live.. So does it mean that we can try to enter to the University just twice?? Does other possibilities exist??
Thanks'!

hello ,can ppl through more light on this . thx

Hey guys the equivalency process is way to get licensed as a dentist in canada if you are a graduated from a non-accredited dental school....aka if you have done your degree from outside of North America. 75 percentile is the passing score on Assessment of Fundamental Knowledge(AFK) exam. If you pass you move on to the next phase which is the clinical exam held in two separate exams. Clinical Judgment is a written exam and Clinical Skills is a practical exam. If you don't pass the the AFK exam then you may enter into a dental school in Canada which offers a program for international dentists. Since the Equivalency Process is a new system colleges have not set out criteria as to what is the lowest score they will accept from the AFK exam but AFK will be used to get into these programs as the Eligibility Exam is going to be abolished soon or already has been.

All of what i have said is clearly stated on NDEB's website at www.ndeb.ca and this is the official website of the board responsible to carry out the Equivalency Process. So any questions/concerns should be directed to them

Hi I have decks 2007...so the newer one(2009) is very different from the old decks?

Hi vrum, i am also a dentist from India and i am giving Feb'11 exam.. which books r u reading from?

@mission DMD:
i'm not sure the website gives any info about getting into a university program if a candidate is NOT successful in securing 75%.
i think any admission would then be upto the soul discretion of the dental school, as it was before with the older acfd system.

however, this is just my point of view/opinion.
all said and done, this examination is brand new and NO ONE knows what to expect....
good luck 🙂

Hi Nonie,

Don't believe 'Hear-Say'

ONTARIO SIMULATION TRAINING CENTRE on Airport Road, Mississauga is the only centre of its kind for doing clinical skills training program.

Go to the website - ostcdental.com

Contact the instructors directly or get feedback from those who already did the program.

hi,
thanks for these information , but i'd like to ask do u mean that EE(eligibility exam) is the same AFK exam ??i mean i read in the website that one of the requirements of admission in to the international dentist advanced program is the pass of EE ... so, i want to know the difference between EE & AFK. please..
and does anyone passed the whole equivalency process from the international dentists??
thanks alot

I am really surprised how some people can really recommend certain things to study and they have zero information about the exam which has been set by no one so far!!! ......
I think, u can't mislead people, and my advice is to wait till first group of us sets the exam then we gonna decide what is best to study apart from the official study list 🙂

All you need is just to connect your handpieces (slow and high speed) and you're good to go! I'm selling it for only $500, whereas its retail price is $700. Buy it within the next two weeks and I'll give you a little discount!!! If interested send me an email at: [email protected]. Good luck!

HELLO Everyone, I need some help regarding the registration for Assesment of Fundamental examination.
I appeared in eligibilty exam in 2008, then because of some personal issues i was not able to continue. Now, I would like to appear again but now exam is conduted by NDEB, MY QUESTION IS :
Do i have to register again with NDEB, OR They can accept my previous records with ACFD.

I just checked on ndeb website that they want transcripts directly from university. i was not sure that do i need to contact my dental school to send transcripts directly or i dont need that ..

i will appreciate if someone can throw some light on this matter,
.
Thanks.
