assume neglibility?

If something like "friction" isn't given to you in a question, do you assume its negligible? Or do you assume its present?

What about for things such as air resistance and the like?

first, learn to post in the appropriate forums...

2nd, if friction is going to be there there will be Uk or Us, so it's pretty self-explanatory. besides, they often tell you explicitly whether to consider friction or not

like wise for all other things

Yeah I remember reading a question that didn't specify whether to take air resistance into account or not, and the answer depended on that... bleh.

What i'd do is just do it both ways so you know you'd get it right in perfect conditions.
