anyone know when/how we are notified if abstracts are accepted?
By email, usually a few months after submission.
... Mr. Roboto
Sorry, can't help it. My brain just works that way.
I believe in mid-May...
Looks like notification will be coming May 20 per the ASTRO website.
Had the same question. Thanks for the info
Apparently they received a record number of abstracts this year, just thought that was interesting.
Location of the conference probably helps.
Abstract notification now changed to late May as per ASTRO website.
Actually just got the notification email, sent 2pm today, for a poster.
Notification, 2pm, oral.
Poster again, for the 3rd year in a row. When will the madness end?
Yup, got an email notification around 1 pm. My abstract got accepted for an oral presentation!! I'm absolutely ecstatic!
Mine also got accepted for an oral presentation...I'm nervous
Beta blockers are m-o-n-e-y for oral presentations
Or, picture everyone naked.
Congrats to the med students on the oral presentations!
Registration opened up today.
For all Members-In-Training I would highly recommend registering quickly if you want to get your first choice for the "Lunch with a Professor" and "Walk with a Professor" sessions.
I can't register because I don't remember my member ID. There doesn't appear to be any way to retrieve it. Any ideas (other than waiting until Tuesday morning to contact them?). Thanks
You should be able to provide an email address and they can automatically send you your password (if I'm remembering correctly). I'm not an ASTRO member, so I don't know if it's different if you are a member, but I log on with my email address and password.
Edit: Oh wait, do you mean the "Verify your account" part since they changed stuff back in April? If that's the case, I'm not sure. Sorry!
Does anyone want to split a room to cut down on costs? I'm a guy. PM me if you're interested. Thanks!
Update for 2012:
Looks like last year people started finding out a little earlier than the date on the ASTRO website. Anybody get any news yet?
Thanks I know the website says May 29th. I ask because from this thread, I gather that last year the website said May 20, and then "Late May," and yet it looks like people found out on May 18th. So I just thought I'd see if any one had heard yet.
Classy maneuver ASTRO, listing today as the notification day and then just... not.
Agreed. Although I'm relieved to see others didn't hear, as I was afraid no news was bad news.
A few guys in my program were notified yesterday that they were selected to make oral presentations...so I guess that means posters for the rest of us?
I guess they're going in waves? Anybody hear today?
We heard a few today but I think they were all orals/poster discussions. No word on posters as far as I know.
Just got notice about my posters 1/2 hour ago
Does anyone know approx. what percentage of submitted abstracts get accepted for presentation (either oral or poster) at the annual meeting?
Separate names with a comma.
