hi everyone!! This is my first year applying to OT schools and I have an interview with AT still very soon. I was wondering if anyone who went already could tell me what its like? It would be really helpful!!! 🙂

Pretty laid back although some interviewees felt it was kind of nerve wrecking.

I believe I was the only one with 2 interviewers that day for whatever reason, but the 2nd interviewer made it so much more comfortable because she was cracking jokes and was really enthustiastic.

You’ll be fine as long as you present them with your passion and a personable personality.

Be prepared for ethical questions and group dynamic situational questions.

Heard back yesterday that they accepted me in their OTD cohort, along with 3 other interviewees I made friends with that day. There could have been more accepted in the OTD as well (there were 12 of us total and I believe half was MSOT interviewees). They accept only 18 people for OTD while they accept 30 for MSOT, so DO YOUR VERY BEST.

Thank you so much. Congrats by the way!! 🙂 also, what time did your interview ended because I’m from California so I’m hoping to leave on the day of.

For morning session it ended at around 12 - 1. Not sure about the afternoon session. I’m from Cali too so I was able to drive back right away!

I felt it was pretty nerve wrecking. Every interview was different. I had two interviewers since they are training some new faculty. One of them was really nice, the other person was more on the serious side. My only suggestion would be to do your very best and make sure to practice situations as well as answering questions about yourself. Good luck!

Definetly questions about working as a group, any problems you have encountered and ethical, cultural values. They just want to see if you can work with a group and if you would be a good fit for their school.
 
I just found out I have an interview for the MOT program....any estimate on how many people they've already accepted?? And any specific interview questions I should practice? I'm freaking out and don't even know if it's worth it for me to travel there if they've already accepted everyone for the cohort

I was in the first interview (10/25) and there were ten interviewees (roughly half were for the MOT). I think they're looking to fill 40 seats and I'll be declining my spot for the MOT so there should be spots left open! You should be okay!

I think they let you know when the cohort has beenfilled. If thats so, your interview invitation should tell you if your interviewing for a spot or waitlist, from what Ive heard in the past

When did you apply? I'm still waiting on a response from them! Also what date is the interview if you don't mind me asking!

I sent in my app end of August and just heard back yesterday! So I was kind of worried lol. I reserved the first possible time slot I could which was December 7th. I saw that they also have dates on Dec. 14th and 2 more in January! So you still have a chance!

I am MOT as well! They do the interviews together, or so I've heard
 
I am MSOT as well! I interviewed last Friday, hopefully I get a response soon. If its been past two weeks, im guessing I didnt get in lol

Dont be! Im a really anxious person so I can overthink and doubt myself at times. But just know there arent any trick questions, they are straightforward. Private msg me if you would like adeep insight, and i can give you tips as well!

Quick Question. How much is the deposit to hold your spot?
 
My app was verified on 10/15 but I haven't heard back about receiving an interview. Didn't realize I was so behind the game submitting my app in mid October! Anyone else in this predicament?

I submitted my app back in August and still haven’t heard back! I’ve emailed them twice now and both times they keep saying my
Application is in the review process even though I mentioned that there are many other students who already heard back who have submitted their application later than mine. So I have no idea what’s going on. Anyone have any insight on this?
