Curious as to what ideas you all might have for inspiration for personal statement based on a successful collegiate baseball career. My first thought, as a former captain, is to relate the osteopathic idea of the whole being greater than simply the sum of its parts to the same being true for a baseball team. Is this an overused, cliche DO school essay topic?

Other suggestions are greatly appreciated, thanks!

I wouldn't try to stretch it too much. Making your whole theme about athletics it tough; was your athletic career what made you want to be a doctor? Not likely; unless you had an injury with athletics that led you to choose a career in medicine. That being said, I think you can still incorporate your athletic career into your PS. Personally, I talked about how athletics prepared me for the demands of life as a medical student and physician. Obviously the dedication, time commitment, and teamwork you learn as a college athlete is invaluable and if expressed properly can really supplement your PS well. Message me if you have any further questions.
