My S.O. and I are both applying to DO schools. We saw this ad in the paper for a presentation on OMT for low-back pain. So we attended, and it was great. We might even get to shadow the lady who presented (she teaches at MSUCOM and her dad was or is the president at KCOM....so that would be cool) Or we might get to shadow in her clinic. My question is: should we put our attendance at the presentation on our applications? Would that look good, or would ADCOMS not really care about such a thing?

I would definitely put it in...it shows interest in the profession and can definitely be an experience to talk about at your interviews.......many applicants have never seen OMT and don't really know what it is....

I wouldn't list it on your app unless it was something like a 3-day CME class that you got to attend. Really, that's probably a great story for your interview. Every DO school will ask you "why do?" and telling them about how you got to witness OMM in action would be great.

I'd put it in my personal statement about how after going to that presentation, it confirmed that you are extremely excited about learning OMT and using it in the future (written more professionally obviously).

👍 I agree, I think it would be a great thing to have in your PS.
