I just got accepted off the waitlist at UTMB, DESPITE being accepted to Baylor in late May.
I didn't withdraw from any TX waitlists because it says on the TMDSAS website "Acceptances from alternate lists may continue through June 1. After June 1, no medical school in Texas may offer a position to an applicant already accepted by another medical school in Texas. This is the result of an agreement between the four U.T. System Medical schools, Baylor College of Medicine . . .".
The dean told me today that the schools DON'T know when you get accepted to another TX school. Only TMDSAS knows, and they don't talk to the schools in the summers. So...if you're waitlisted at a TX school(s) and have another TX acceptance you prefer, you still have to give up your waitlists. The June 1 thing doesn't work, according the the UTMB dean.
