Attrition rate at DO schools?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I can say with certainty that the only people we lost from my class at LECOM-B...deserved to get lost. Three had significant personality issues to go along with underachieving. If they were harder working, and more sane...the school would have worked with them. One got held back because she got caught having her friends swip her card in and missing class. Nobody that was hard working and sane got held back or failed. That was with over 160 students.

The nice thing about LECOM also is that if you fail something big (anatomy, PBL, etc.), you get sent to the post-bac in MS1. If after that you still struggle enough to low-fail, something's up.

Our class has literally lost 10-11 after just the first semester. Some of those were personal reasons, but a handful for failing. Was bad

After reading Cookies first post, I was a little worried, but after reading all his replies, it is pretty obvious on why he was dismissed.

Which school?

This really depends on number of students. In some of the bigger schools 10-11 people could be 3-4%, which isn't that uncommon for 1st year. Even in my program we lost ~7% of students in 1st year, but it's pretty rare to lose people in MS3 or MS4, and we haven't lost anyone yet in MS2, so it all depends on if there's anyone who doesn't manage to pass Level 1.

I think they go to KYCOM, so it's like 7-8% of their first year class.
