I like to listen to lectures and learn medical information from mp3s while I go jogging. Anyone have any recommendations for free/ affordable podcasts and mp3's that I can utilize during FP residency?

Thanks!

if u have an ipod/iphone, there r plenty of free podcast available for download from itunes. Not sure about FP specifically.

www.freeemergencytalks.net - many hours of emergency medicine topics, some of which may be useful to you.

www.keepingupinem.com - evidence based podcast for emergency medicine topics

emcrit.org - has podcasts about critical care topics

some topics on these sites may be useful to you. At least it is something to check out. I don't know any FP specific sites; I've never looked because I'm in EM 🙂

Best of luck,

jd

Merck Manual has free audio podcasts (available on iTunes website) which have a symptom-based approach e.g. dizziness, scrotal pain, etc

I think Annals of Internal Medicine has some decent stuff too.

There's a "POEM of the Week" podcast I found through iTunes somehow. Good short blurbs on recent research. I've never gone to the papers they're citing to analyze the validity of the study, or if the conclusions the commentators are drawing are consistent with the study. However, from what I remember, everything seemed up to par.

Thanks for all the suggestions! I've checked a few of these out. Anyone else have anything to add?
