Hey guys,

What is the cheapest way to get a hold of these? I saw some postings about free downloads, but no links.

Thanks

check your school's library? my school had the CDs so pre-meds would borrow and burn.

I personally didn't find AA to be helpful.

Yeah I am wondering about how helpful it is too...I have a couple of friends that swear that A O helped them obtain their high scores, however, I just cant stand it. I listen to those 2 ramble on for about 10 mins and its all I can take. Too annoying in my opinion.

That was my biggest gripe about AO. It''s really hard to bear through all the corny jokes, annoying sound effects, and annoying, sometimes even offensive, voice imitations. However, it was still useful and helped me out. Some of their memory tricks are pretty good. For example, their joke about nucleoside makes it pretty easy to remember the difference between nucleosides and nucleotides. Their joke about vic dihalides makes it easy to remember what that is. And although benzene material isn't on the test anymore, the stuff about ortho/para/meta directors in the context of Uncle Hal at the dinner table made that complicated subject pretty easy.

I'd recommend it, although I think it's usual asking price is way too expensive to warrant a purchase. I also feel sorry for anyone who actually bought their boast that the CDs are all you need to study for the MCAT. I'm sure that never ended well for anyone.

There's not any benzene O-chem on the mcat anymore? Is that officially stated by the aamc?

I agree with some here. I found it very useful. I was very busy and thus has little/no time to study for the MCAT until the final week before (which I took off both my jobs). As such, the only studying I did was listen to AO over and over while walking to work, on the subway and driving sometimes. Yes, the jokes are very corny, but I actually find that they helped me not get so bored that I zone out.

It's helpful if you have an office job where you can listen to it all day and still work. Or take it to the gym. Definitely use other study material though.
