I'm auditing my recent DAT retake due to the computer being slow and my scores being rediculously bad when I felt great about the test. I'm wondering if anyone has had success with an audit due to scoring or computer issues-not because of incorrect questions or questions without answers.

If they don't grant me a retake, what happens at that point? Do I have to wait 2 more months to retake?
Also, what effect will this have on my chances this year? Is it possible to retake in March and still get have the smallest chance? This is so frustrating. A nightmare.

it will happen 1 of 2 ways:

1) they'll allow you to take another test before 3 months are up. There have been cases of early tests granted do to computer malfunctions. These were do to actual "crashes" or "meltdowns" not the computers being "slow."

2) they wont

however, there is no way they will cancel the first scores.

I am guessing that the ADA will say that multiple other people have taken tests on that computer without complaint and therefore deny your request.

I had a nightmare of my own the first time I took the DAT. The computer froze!

I had to get the proctor to come in, and restart the computer. She and I were both worried that things would have disappeared, but luckily nothing was lost.

I had a DAT nightmare myself... my test was scheduled for 8. Dandy! Well, it wouldn't load on any of the computers and I was already signed into the room. I literally sat in front of a computer until 12 when it finally loaded!!!! My first section was organic... needless to say I bombed that section b/c I was pissed and my brain was frazzled.

SAME thing happened to me. They took forever to get in there to fix it. I shot them a mean glance in that camera in order to get them in to fix it.

My test wouldn't load. They made me call on the following Monday to see the next open time. They told me Tuesday night was the next available time. So I came in Tuesday evening to take it. My test wouldn't load. It took them awhile to fix the problem. My first section was biology. My worst section was biology.

Oh well. Never again will I have to think about the DAT! 🙂

Yea that is what I figure too. It's so disappointing that we pay a lot of money for this test and things like this happen and nothing is done about it. C'est la vie.

It seems to me a lot of these problems are with the testing centers and not with the test itself.

I wish there was some thread where people would just list where they took it and whether or not they encountered any problems.
