A little background: I'm starting a post-bacc program next month with general pre-med courses. I'm working part-time and looking for volunteer opportunities to add one or two days/week.

My alma mater allows alums to audit classes for dirt cheap, especially considering how expensive this private school is. I'd like to eventually (in the next year) audit some public health courses like nutrition and epidemiology. Do you think this will help me in my med school apps? Or am I just taking away from time I could be spending gunning for As in my premed courses? I hope to do an MD/MPH because I want the wider knowledge of health that MPH offers, especially since my end-goal is international development in post-conflict areas.

auditing classes won't help you so don't waste your time unless its a class that will help you do well on the mcat
