Audition rotation as intern?

I found out my prelim program allows 1 rotation outside their institution for an audition rotation for those of us who did not match advanced. I have never heard of this and am not sure how to set this up as an intern. Do we simply contact programs or is there a more formal way like VSAS? Anyone have any input/info?

You simply contact programs. Many programs require 90-120 days to process all of the paperwork, so make sure to get started early
